When you create a new blog, you’ll see a new option to make it “password protected”. Share this password with the people you want to see your posts, and lock out everyone else. Have fun!
You can password protect an existing public blog from its Customize screen. This feature is not available on your primary blog.

Add a tweet box to your Tumblr theme
Today, Twitter finally launched @Anywhere, an extremely simple set of tools that allows developers to easily integrate Twitter into their websites. With just a few lines of code you can add things like follow buttons, hovercards, and tweet boxes to any website. When they previewed it at SXSW last month they were very vague about it, and to be honest I thought the whole thing was kind of meh, but after trying it out and seeing how easy it is to implement, I’m sure this thing is going to pop up all over the Web.
With @Anywhere, in about five minutes I added a “tweet box” at the end of every post in my Tumblr blog, prepopulated with the title of the post, the shortURL, and my Twitter username (@gesteves), to allow readers to easily add their comments and share the post with their Twitter followers.
